The 16,390-acre purchase by Granite Dells Ranch Holdings LLC's equals nearly two-thirds the size of the city of Prescott's current land mass. The two ranches, Granite Dells and Point of Rocks, have been the topic of heated community debate for years, as Prescott, Prescott Valley, and Chino Valley have all eyed the area for possible future development. The bulk of the acreage lies in unincorporated Yavapai County, except for about 5,200 acres that had previously been annexed by the Town of Chino Valley.
